Postby sfotiss » Mon Mar 19, 2007 8:49 pm

Just started to build a new style of frame and need some feed back. Do you guys think it will sell and do you like the style? Thanks for the input.

I like the looks of it but I would be concerned about stress at these two points. Some more structural supports or design before I'd jump into it. John

You can't see it in the pics but it is braced at those locations and is also 11/2 inch DOM tubing along with 100% tig welded. I have built over 200 with the same general design and have yet to have one crack. I am riding one now that has over 10 grand in milage and no problems. Thats a good eye and thanks for the feedback.

I need to correct myself insaying that I have built over 200 this style. What i should have said was that i have built over 200 this style for Big Twin motors. This is the first style for Sportstes that my company has built. We were loosing alot a of sales every month not having a sporty frame. Here is the bike with the tank on. Thanks for all the feed back.

The tank brought it home for me......... i can envisage some smooth lines.
Got anything finished to look at?

Just my opinion, but it seems the downtube and bottom rails should come together in a single line or plane at the wishbone joint. It looks like the wishbones angle forward and causes the downtube to be at an odd angle. If things ran more along the angle of the front cylinder, it may flow a little better.
