But was getting lonely So I adopted a big brother for him. 20" swing, variable speed and a blade welder to boot. :D  :D I'm still breaking in the new blade, but it worksreal good.

Good score! I've got one just like it except for the fence.
If you didn't get a manual for the bandsaw or the blade welder, let me know and I'll copy mine and send to you.
Model # 28-345

$900 is a good price - I'm embarrassed to say what I paid for mine.

Thanx for the offer D. It's a 28-662, and the welder instructions are on a plate mounted to it. I would like to see a maintenance schedule for it though. If your manual has anything along that line I would like a copy if you you don't mind. I doubt the parts list would be of use. I found a part list online.

Not much of a maintenance schedule - just clean tires, lubricate sliding parts with a few drops of light oil. Bearings and motors are sealed so nothing to do there. The gear case is packed with 1 3/4 lbs of E.P. No. "0" grease.
Don't know if parts are still available for the welder, but if you need a breakdown and numbers or wiring diagram, I've got 'em.
Have the tires been changed to urethane or do you have the factory type with a "key" molded into it? I checked not too long ago and each tire was about $98 if I remember correctly.

Congrats on your "new" saw!

That's exactly the info I needed. Thanx.

Don't tell anyone else, but I've been cutting parts for my frame jig with it. A local company was selling frame jig kits..."Some assembly required". I asked 'em to at least cut the 24' stick in half so I could cart it home. HaHa!! :D Also using alot of scrap I got laying around. With this saw I can now cut my drops into usable pieces.

The alignment issue was the lower drive wheel almost falling off the shaft. They had it tightened in place and the teeth ate a groove in the original tire. It's tracking true so I'll prolly wait to buy new tires. I found a site online that sells replacement parts for these, but didn't save the link. I just searched the tire part number. The site had a complete parts list in pdf format.

Oh, and you should be embarrassed to buy one @$50.
