Leaf Spring setup

Postby Jeff L » Sat Jul 17, 2010 3:20 pm

The leafer that I want to build will have a leading link,I was looking at the plans on the site, that shows spring setup for the trailing link.Would I just have to reverse the order of the springs for my build?(hope I asked this right)

If it pulls down, long spring on top.....if it pushes up , long spring on bottom....BUT !!!

I spent a lot of time working on a billet Aluminum leafer, with the axle out front.....problem is it has a lot of neg trail , i am redoing my trees to try to get it back positive...Youcould make a short bar where the axle and spring link are on the same point, i have not worked with this set-up yet ! JUST CAUSE IT LOOKS COOL, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT DANGEROUS !

I posted this before...

I haven't done the math yet, but if I run little to no offset on my trees (just enough for my bars to clear the tank) & keep the rockers short I think the numbers will work.I did plan on running the spring on the axle.
