Biker Radio Magazine isn't about one specific group... it is about motorcycles and the people that ride them, build them, race them, show them and spend a great deal of time on them.
These weekly shows run about an hour each, with new ones available on Fridays and cover any and all topics that have a relation to bikes and Biker Radio Magazine has guests that are pros and non-pros. Each guest has something to bring to the party and that is what we hope to share each week in each topic specific show. The shows do not start to download automatically so you have to do a little work yourself and save them to your hard drive to burn them. We also have versions of each show that can be loaded on an mp3 player.
We will post you bike pictures on the front page if you send them to us and you are welcome to send them.
Send your picture to me, Ken... at the ' Contact ' page.
Biker Radio Magazine doesn't care what you ride... just ride.

Biker Radio Magazine is a great supporter of The Chopper Handbook and this forum is the place to go if you are a home builder looking for tips or just to bounce around build ideas. The forum was originally from The Chopper Handbook site but is now being hosted on the Biker Radio Magazine server. This is still a continuation of The Chopper Handbook and is still the best resource for the home builder. It is free to use and most plans are also free.

Here's a picture of Cheyenne's '59 Pan. We went over it for spark and carb workings but we need to do a little more with the fuel system to make everything " Happy ". It wants to start but it will be running in the next couple of days. It has been resting for 5 years.

Our Friend Atan at www.locklaq.com was at Pattaya Bike Week and sent a care package to the office here. What you see in the picture are stickers, patches a pin and a magazine from the show. A t-shirt was also included and has been put into service already so no picture is available at present but it's really cool. Thanks Atan! We appreciate you thinking about us!

The Greasebag Jamboree just passed. It was a couple of weeks back now and the pictures from it have surfaced. Grail from Knuckle Buster Inc. sends this shot of the winner of the Biker Radio Magazine sponsored trophy. You are looking at a twin cam that has been very well used in this custom build. Now, the winner of this sponsored award must be part of the witness protection program as information like name and a number to reach him is conspicuously absent. The more we learn the more we will pass on. Congratulations! Great looking bike!

Ian Huntly, our friend in the U.K. that brings us reports on the IOMTT has sent a few pictures. IF you have a pair of those 3-D glasses you might be able to have a better look at the green bike... if not... have a couple of drinks and see if that works. These bikes are electric! The future of bikes? Maybe for some. Will they be faster than gas powered bikes?

Our friend Ian Huntly lives in the U.K. and goes to the Isle of Man TT every year and this time met a rider he first shook hands with some 50 years ago. Naomi Tanaguchi rode for Honda back in '59 and today, at 73, looks pretty damn good. I should look so good now. Ian is on the right and also has a couple of IOMTT reports in the next couple of Editions - If you look closely he is wearing a t-shirt he had made up for the event... it is the Biker Radio Magazine banner from the home page. Thanks, Ian!

After almost thirty years an old friend showed up one night at Alibis in Windsor. Tim has always ridden good looking bikes and he had his first ride on the back of the same bike that I ended up buying as my first bike. It was a '75 KZ400. One of Tim's bikes was a KZ900 with a great paint job but now he rides this. He still likes paint and this bike just gleams. Thanks to Kathy at www.essesxcountyriderscanada.com for loaning me a camera, I keep forgetting mine.

Our friend and picture source on Marty Dickerson, Seth Dorfler sends another shot of one of Marty's bikes. Seth tells a story to go with it:
Here is another photo, it is of Marty's Bonneville bike being taken apart in our motel room. The bike dropped a cylinder and we had only had overnight to fix it. You should have seen the face of the motel manager when he came in and saw what we were doing in the room. He went wild and started yelling, get the Fu_k out of my motel, and on and on. Marty stood up and put his arm around the manager and they walked out of the room together. A few minutes later they both came back into the room with the manager saying what can I do to help...Marty had used his Magic once again.
All the best,
Seth

Walking with the " Shop Dog " along the Detroit River I came upon a guy with a bike that had a very distinctive sound. This '77 Shovel belongs to Mike from Windsor, Ontario. We had a talk and I learned he is the Road Captain from The North Wall Riders Association. Nice to meet a fellow Shovel rider.

More pictures of Marty Dickerson from some years ago. You can see his " Grey Flash " and another of Marty on his first 860 GT Ducati. Our many thanks to Seth Dorfler for thinking of us. Pictures like these are getting fewer by the day.

A-Day Swap Meet 2009
Here's a slideshow for you of pics our webmaster Dan took at the A-Day swap meet held at Fujiten Ski Resort at the base of Mt. Fuji. Keep in mind that ALL of the bikes you see here were ridden to the show. This is not a bike show, but a swap meet parking lot.

The experienced looking guy on the right is Irish Rich from Edition 80. The guy on the left is Steve Glennon, and he helps Rich out from time to time.

Our friend, John Bedard, has this '02 Bonneville America and while he sent more info on the bike, we liked this part: " The only engine mods were eliminating the restrictive stock airbox in favor of K&N pod filters, Triumph "offroad" pipes and the appropriate carb alterations for the increased flow. It runs very good and carries my fat carcass all day at highway speeds without complaining. " There are other mods... some you can pick out and others are hidden in the fork tubes. Have a look at his site and Thanks John! www.friarsride.com

COOL BREAKERS SHOW 2009 - YOKOHAMA

The BRM webmaster Dan went to the show this Sunday and took quite a few pics to share. There was something for every taste at the show. Pictured here is a 93 inch stroker shovelhead aptly named Fastboy which was built by Dan's friend Tomoyoshi Uchida of Bike Garage Kokoro. Most of the parts for this build were hand made, one at a time, and even though the chop wasn't 100 percent finished for the show, the level of attention to detail was still amazing.
You can see more pics of Fastboy, and a pretty large sampling of what the show had to offer by clicking on this link:
http://picasaweb.google.com/budoka247/CoolBreakersShow2009Yokohama#

Ken,
Attached is some pics of my junk collection, a 72 paughco frame that is getting a jackshaft and 280 tire, a few of my welders and O/A setups, jig, and my axle plate design for the paughco frame. I am having the darker star and circle cast and that will actually be the axle nuts with a 3-d star on them, they are being cast by Chopper Dave for me. Then the plate design will have a nautical star in 3-d also. you can see the 3-d star machined by no other than " Indian Mark " Foran. Those plates will be one of my new signature parts on my personal frames.
Chris Croft

www.resurrectediron.com is the source for these pictures and a friend, Mark Mathias sends these shots of his Black Chopper. At the time of the email he sent, he was on his way out the door to split the cases on a Sporty that was making unhappy noises in the area of the primary. Visit his site... it looks like it will be a good resource as time goes on and stuff is added.

Jeff York, a guest on Edition 79 sends us these pictures from a trip he took. 200 miles on dirt roads and through a pretty nasty sand trap. He explains it all in the interview but he also sent these pictures. It looks desolate but the best part is on a ride like this, you really get to challenge your own skills. Would YOU be up for it?

From the Ace Cafe in London comes this announcement and a cool event!

An email from our friend Nick K. in Toronto made it through the spam filters and he pokes a little fun at the Host of B.R.M. - " Ken, tape up the lights on the FLH and bring'er out.....Ha! " The picture you are looking at was taken at the Shannonville Ontario track that is opened up for racers of all skill levels and it's THE BEST place to practice going fast. Nick is getting faster every trip out and I look forward to making a run up to watch him turn a few laps. Thanks Nick!

Here's a great shot of Cindy Rutherford from Century Cycle. The hat she is wearing belonged to Rollie Free.... he used to wear it in the Pits at Bonneville. That bike she is on? A Vincent Lightning. Thanks for the picture, Cindy. We like your shop too!

Ed Kertz Jr. sent more pictures for us and in these you will see his Honda RC161, Ron Grant is the " That masked man ". Also, Ed at a TT race in California from 1955 on #33 and Dick Mann is on #64. Thanks so much, Ed!

Our friend Atan of www.locklaq.com sends a link to some pictures from the Peace and Love Party in Thailand. The link will take you to the pictures and the one thing noticed here at the office is that no matter where the bike party is, all the pictures are hauntingly familiar: Food, Drink, sleeping where you can and just hanging out with some friends. Thanks Atan for thinking about us!

Marty Dickerson is returning this week as a guest here on Biker Radio Magazine. He mentioned a fellow that took a course from him many years ago and that was Seth Dorfler. Seth heard the first show Marty was on and kindly sent these pictures. The guy with the hair is Seth and that was taken in '75. You will also see Marty standing by his bike in the 50's and then later in 1990. Then there is the guy in the T-Shirt... Burt Munro in '75. Thanks for the great shots, Seth and also have a look at some of Seth's collection.

While going to meet a friend at a local watering hole we ran across Sean Connelly and his '77 Shovel Low Rider. Nice bike in great shape too! Here are a couple of pictures for you... Thanks Sean!

Our friend Tim Armstrong from ' The Rider's Mag ' was talking to us about what it takes to be a show judge. While he was there we got a shot of his bike. There are a ton of details on this bike and we'll share them with you another time but having a quick look will tell you this is one clean bike.

Standing out in the smoking section a couple of friends spotted us from the highway and ran in to say hello, Ralph... standing in the background was checking messages next to his new ride while Tim, closest to the camera and Burt looked over Burt's Shovel. The were finding the source of an unfortunate seal failure on a push rod tube. It happens. All is now fixed but the bike looks great just the same.

Looking around the shop the other day I was asked why there wasn't a feature at Biker Radio Magazine on parts that you have built and added or something you have used that may not have been bike related to serve a purpose on your bike. So, I start this feature with a couple of close up shots on ' Elwood '. When I met Elwood he was in rough shape and helped nurse the old boy back to life. I did add a couple of parts to show some detail but one of the parts I cannot show you due to a language issue. If you have youngsters that sit on your lap when you see this site, you'll will understand what I mean. So... here are a couple I can show you. One is the breather cover and the other is the battery that I do not have a cover for so I just dressed the black case. Do you have something you have added and want to share in a picture? Send the shot, a description of the part and what it was in a former life or how you made it. We'll post it. If we get enough pictures, we'll start another page so send away!

Our friend " Happy " had us in the shop for a look at the V-8 bike. We took coffee... he let us take pictures. Here it is. Very cool, Hap!

Our guest, Nick Paxton from the U.K. who runs a site for musicians with motorcycles sent us these pictures of his rides. ' Dennis ' is his chop and the trike... well we are not certain it has a name but nice looking ride just the same. Thanks Nick!

...this is his chop with a couple of his guitars. The ' Sun Burst ' is a classic look. Love the Bass too!

Ed Kretz Jr. has been around bikes all his life. His Dad raced on the beach in Daytona and won the first motorcycle race there. Here is a picture of Ed Jr. at a TT Race in California from 1954. Ed joins Biker Radio Magazine on Edition 74 to talk about bikes, racing and his mini museum.

It took some doing to get in touch with this man in the pictures. MCpl Ross Reid and Cpl Jeff Blackmore, along with the help of other friends in camp built this bike from parts they had available. More names are mentioned in the segment included in Edition 74 but we have these pictures to share with you. Here's Ross on the bike for a couple of shots and have a look at the hill behind him. The story of the flag is in the show too. Ross is home now and he had a picture take of his personal bike... somewhat more sophisticated than the Afghanistan bike but the one he built with friends has a lot of soul.

Biker Radio Magazine received this picture from Ed Kretz and we thank him for this very cool shot of Burt Munro's Streamliner. Yes, this is ' The World's Fastest Indian '... the one the movie was based on and owned by Burt himself.

John Levey of JRL Cycles sent these picture to go with this week's show COMPLETE with the original bar napkin drawing of the bike. Our great thanks to the guys at JRL Cycle for talking to us and showing us that sometimes and napkin in a bar is the start of something cool.

This is Burt's Shovel out in front of Ralph's shop.
Photo courtesy of Jim at www.frostbyte.ca

The three guys in this picture are: Ed on the right, Tim Armstrong of ' The Rider's Mag ' in the middle and Burke on the left.

The guy in the Purple is my good friend Cheyenne going through some parts at the Chatham Swap meet.

Mark in Windsor was looking at some Brass Knuckle levers that Cheyenne had made for his own bike and they looked good so he commissioned a pair for his own bike. What you are looking at is a tighter version of the originals and those round discs on the end? Those are from Mark's days in the Canadian Navy and are a way to honour his service and the people he served with. Nicely done, Cheyenne and they really look good on Mark's bike.

He was called ' Sporty Dan ' but now that has changed to something involving the Dyna you see in the background. Dan is selling this Sporty... it's a '75 and has been well taken care of but does have a story. The price sounds good to me and if you are interested... it's priced to sell. Email us and we'll put you in touch with him and you can work out the deal. We are not selling this bike and only pass the info in case you are looking for something to ride.

George Winney in Windsor, Ontario has set up something here that really hasn't been an option until now in this area. I know you might be thinking " This is a bit of a downer to think about " but when you look at the big picture, for someone who loved riding... it's not so bad.

Biker Radio Magazine just got an email from a guy I have known for many years, he digs bikes and found this gem. Yes... it's Japanese... It's old and it's very cool. I have included the emails back and forth today, there are only two, he got it road certified and took it out for a run on a cool but nice day in the Toronto area. Nice, Nick... very nice.

Our friend Dan Lessard of Rembrant's Brush ( yes... it's spelled wrong, he knows ) sent these pictures of a bike he painted that was on display at the recent Motorcycle Expo in Toronto. It won a few awards and one of those was for best paint. Congrats to Dan for the great showing of his skills yet again. See more of his stuff at: www.rembrantsbrush.com

Jeff York from www.motomyth.com sends this picture of The Bud Ekin Tribute Bike. Jeff spent a little time on this and has made a career change from climbing communication towers to building and servicing bikes. A change in careers? YOU BETCHA! It don't get much more of a change than that but on the lighter side he works under a roof instead of way over top of them. Anyway, have a look at the bike and his site.

John Endrizzi was a guest on Edition 70 of Biker Radio Magazine and was introduced to us through Phil Ross at Supermax Belt Drives. Knucklehead engines/bikes are something of conversation around the B.R.M. offices and emails mainly because our web master, Dan, has a Knuckle engine headed his way. With that in mind, John sent us all these pictures of bikes at the Knucklehead Reunion and 4 of his own bikes are in the mix here too. There are some amazing looking bikes out in garages all over the place but it sure is nice to see them come out to see the sun once in a while. Our thanks to John for the GREAT pictures!
Have a look!!!

Our friend Atan from www.locklaq.com is great about keeping us up on events in his part of the world. This time he has sent in photos from Pattaya Bike Week 2009 for us to peruse.
You can find them here.

From the comments section of Biker Radio Magazine comes these pictures from a guy that lives just a few miles away from the B.R.M. studios. As is turns out, John found out about B.R.M. through a forum on Triumphs. He started listening and heard some familiar names, familiar because he had met some of the guests. 'How could that be?' He wondered. Then he learned that Biker Radio Magazine is produced right in the area where he lives. Here is a picture of his bike against some morning mist ( looks like it could be in the Smoky Mountains ) and on the way back from a ride to Northern Georgia with some friends.
Thanks John!

Phil Ross from Edition 68 sends pictures from his files. Some folks you may recognize and you also see the daily we talk about during the interview. That would be the Shovel with the denim covered seat.

Our good friend ' Painter John ' sends these pictures of his personal chop. He is getting ready to paint it finally and will be showing the finished project in March. I have great respect for John and his work and I think you will like the ride. John is a big guy and I tease him about it without mercy as he is 6'1" and wider in the shoulders than my truck. He is a body builder and I called him a ' Silver Back ' on the phone while I am built more like a chimp by comparison. John stretched it out so his elbows didn't hit his knees when he rides. He left the mid controls and added his little touches like the ' Jimmy Flintstone ' shifter knob. Thanks for the pictures, my friend.

Gerald C. sends in these pictures of his cool chops for your viewing pleasure.
Hey Ken! Gerald C. from Sk. Just thowing a couple pics your way of our scooters, an '87 Custom w/a 80 c.i. bolted to a Cowpie, suicide clutch, jockey shift and 2" stacks and a '84 Softail w/a 106 c.i. also bolted to a Cowpie with 2 1/4" stacks.

Jim Bessey from Windsor, Ontario contacted the Biker Radio Magazine office and told us he had some pictures he wanted to show us. O.K., we thought... Bikes? We're in, let's have a look! Well Jim has gone a step further with his shots. He takes a customer's bike and places it in a different back ground. Jim can explain it better and does at his web site. We thought you might like a look at something you don't see everyday. Here's some info on the ride: "Hells Gate" is the picture and is pretty much self explanatory. The background of this image is close-up shots from the great airbrush work on this bike which was done by Dan Lessard from Rembrants Brush In Tecumseh Ontario.. This old girl started her days as a 1984 Police special FLH whether or not it was an actual cop bike or ever pulled anyone over for speeding is unknown although now its broken many a posted speed limit on a few occasions I have witnessed. This bike it was quite a mess and looked nothing like the beast you see now... Its transformation took a couple of years of hard work and ingenuity..

We got a picture the other day from a couple of friends. These two ladies have been in the cast of a movie but sadly there was some editing for time and their stuff was lost to ' the cutting room floor '. They were out for a ride with some friends this past summer and sent this shot. That's Murph on the left and Vicky on the right. These two play hockey for fun in the winter time and are just all around cool people that we are fortunate to call friends.

Cyril Huze sends in a couple of pics of a front end and full bike called "El Mirage."
Thanks, Cyril!

Bill "Weeze" sends in some pics of his great stable of Harleys past and present. We are very jealous! Check out his comments on the "comments" page too.

Oh, here's the 66 rat shovel I call "Die Hard"
Had a "Die Hard" battery with no cover and friends nicknamed it "Die Hard." I called it a rat bike 'cause it got pretty ratty after 12 yrs of just riding it and laying it down a few bikes and getting hit in parking lots etc...

Check out these pics of a Wes's 51 Triumph! And just because he's a cool guy, he even uploaded some video to YouTube for us. You can see it here:
51 Triumph video 1
51 Triumph video 2

Colin from Time Cycles is headed to Utah and he has joined Biker Radio Magazine to talk about going to ' The Salt ' on an old classic. Colin has been working on classic bikes for a long time and he made the decision to go to The BUB. He has sent us pictures of what he will be riding as the salt has bitten him on the ass and yet another bank account has become prisoner of the gods of speed. All kidding aside... thanks for the pictures, Colin and we look forward to hearing the stories when you get back.
09.12 Here is a very short video of Colin at Bonneville during a start of a run at The Bub. Also... there is video of a bike Mike from Kiwi was working on so it's a cool link. Check it out!

Ride Thailand 2008 is coming! If you can make it, this is a must do!
Thanks to ATAN at www.locklaq.com for the cool info and for thinking of us here in North America. We will be posting video from him soon!

Dan Wert, of Penn Iron Works, Inc. sends in these shots of his current rides. With the exception of the dresser, they are all hand built - and may we add...beautiful.

Charles Libby also sent us some shots of one sweet ride. Of this bike, Charles says, "this is the second complete bike i have built. All done in my shop at home, it includes .090 alum. tank and rear fender, .060 bellypan and sides, a 1975 ironhead, and home built front girder and frame.

Thom Beers, recent guest on B.R.M. was at a show called Comic-Con to unveil a ' Graphic Novel ' and subsequent bike to go along with it. The concept for the novel came as a result of conversations with his son, Max and friend, Noah Segal. The novel is the pre-cursor to a feature film that Thom will be directing next year. A motorcycle was build for the Comic-Con release by Russel Mitchell of Exile Cycles and dressed out by " Almost Human, Inc ". The result is something completely out of left field and certainly on the fringes. We here at Biker Radio Magazine are cool with that. Not like it matters what we think but this whole project needs to be talked about. Here's the bike...

Our friends at the Ace Cafe in London have completed a project with S&S. This bike uses an S&S 100c/i mill and is based on the cafe racers of years ago but this is certainly not the bike of years ago... it's the meaner grand child. Well... meaner and way faster grand child. We at Biker Radio Magazine are very excited to see the Ace Cafe Racer become a reality and more than that we are very pleased to welcome Mark and Linda Wilsmore of ' The Ace ' to Sturgis this summer to see the rally first hand. Mark and Linda have been most generous and sent these pictures for your approval. Also for a look at the list of events and meets at The Ace this year, don't wait... click now!

Scott from Iowa bought this bike CHEAP and has gotten it back on the road. It is a '56 Pan and while we are jealous as hell, we thank Scott for the pictures and hope he washes the bike soon. Even showing its age, it is beautiful.

This is one shit hot bike! The award was given by Knuckle Buster Inc. on behalf of Biker Radio Magazine for no other reason than it was a cool bike. Biker Radio Magazine totally digs the fact that he is running a mag and the aluminum looks amazing! B.R.M. is very happy to have been a part of this year's Greasebag Jamboree.
